About the Artist

Kalamazoo, Michigan area artist. Susan Teague. received her A.S. in Liberal Arts from Kalamazoo Valley Community College and B.S. in Fine Art from Western Michigan University in the early 1970s. Her post graduate studies were in Art Education, Speech and Theater, and Creative Expression at Murray State University and the University of Kentucky at Lexington. Her art studies have included training with nationally recognized artists, Jack Beal, Michael Berger, and Martha Meyer Erlebacher.

Susan’s paintings and drawings have consistently won awards and recognition over the past decades. Her artistic career lists more than 70 plus national and regional competitions and exhibitions, and 20 one-woman shows. She has been credited with more than 100 personal interviews regionally and across the country in television, radio, press, magazines, and publications for her accomplishments as an artist, book illustrator, and workshop presenter. Her artwork can be found in private and public facilities, churches, and schools in Michigan, Kentucky, Lousiana and the West Coast. She has become well-known to Southwest Michigan for the 400 linear-foot mural she painted at the New Bronson’s Children’s Hospital.

Susan continues to share her artistic knowledge in workshop settings, and has been teaching drawing, composition, and painting to adults and children at Kalamazoo Institute of Art for over 15 years.
